Gateway WIC program services available

Gateway Community Action Partnership operates the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children (WIC) in Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties. The program provides supplemental foods, nutrition education, lactation support, immunization education and health care referrals to income-eligible pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children up to age 5.

Head Start families to be “hands on” with Barn Studio in Millville

Children from Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Head Start programs and their families will take part in a virtual “hands on” pottery experience with The Barn Studio of Art, 814 Whitaker Ave., Millville this winter. Barn Studio activities for Gateway’s centers includes 184 children from Cumberland County Head Start centers from November 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023. Children in the River’s Edge Head Start and Cheryl Chadwick Early Learning Center in Bridgeton, as well as students at the Vineland II and Vineland III Head Start centers will participate. Children will enjoy a hands-on clay arts experience and a gallery showing and creative art experience as part of the program.

Gateway Head Start and National Nonprofit DonorsChoose Announce New Partnership

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Early Head Start/Head Start program announced today a new partnership with the national nonprofit DonorsChoose to help teachers tap into a network of 4 million donors to support classroom projects and more seamlessly align with district strategy and operations. Teachers in Gateway EHS/Head Start have raised $100K and completed over 190 projects on DonorsChoose. These projects vary from books to laptops and other tools to enhance the learning environment and support student success. (Click for more info)
