Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Head Start program has reopened three Atlantic County centers that had closed for cleaning and sanitizing due to recent COVID-19 concerns.

The three centers: Gateway Head Start Early Head Start Center (GHSEEC) in Atlantic City, Linwood Head Start, and Spruce Avenue/Egg Harbor, reopened this week.

Atlantic City and Egg Harbor centers are open for in-person early childhood education and related family services. The Linwood Center is providing services virtually as building renovations, not related to COVID-19, continue.

Gateway Head Start worked with the Atlantic County Health Department to perform all cleaning and sanitizing while the centers were closed. Virtual and other support services to families continued while the centers were closed.

Center staff was tested and cleared medically for a safe return to work.

Gateway President & CEO Albert B. Kelly, CCAP noted Head Start will review, and revise, as necessary, its already rigorous health and safety procedures, to ensure the continued health and safety of staff, children and parents.
