GATEWAY COMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP 110 Cohansey St. Bridgeton, NJ 08302 Notice is hearby given that one (3) bid packages for a multi-unit weatherization project is being released by Gateway Community Action Partnership and bid proposals are being requested for this work in Cumberland County. There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting at the jobsite, East Almond Estates 527 East Almond St., Vineland, NJ, on August 22 at 10:00 AM. This is a prevailing wage project and all materials must be American made. There will be multiple bid packages available: weatherization measures package, insulation package and electrical package. All questions pertaining to these stipulations will be answered at the pre-bid meeting. Sealed original bids, no copies, must be returned to our office by I 0:00 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. No bids will be accepted after this appointed time and date. Sealed bids will be opened at 11 :00 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11 :00AM. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of Gateway. This bid packages "Multi-Family Project Almond Estates DOE BIL" is strictly for Weatherization Measures. Gateway reserves the right to reject any of all bids and reserves the right to waive any informality in the bids and to accept the bid and award the contract to the bidder which, in its best judgment, best serves the interest of Gateway. The bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, properly endorsed with the name of the bidder, with the destination, "Multi-Family Project Almond Estates DOE BIL" and hand delivered to Gateway Weatherization Assistance Program, 110 Cohansey Street, Bridgeton, New Jersey 08302. Bidders are required to comply with the provisions ofNJSA 10:2-1 through 10:2-4 and Public Law 1975 c.127 dealing with discrimination in employment on public contract. Effective September 28, 2023, the Egg Harbor City WIC office located at 300 Philadelphia Ave., Suite B, will no longer be in operation. However, Gateway WIC will continue to provide services to participants at the Galloway WIC Office at 333 Jimmie Leeds Road, Unit 5 (609-382-5050). The Galloway WIC Office maintains operating hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Children from Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Head Start programs and their families will take part in a virtual “hands on” pottery experience with The Barn Studio of Art, 814 Whitaker Ave., Millville this winter. Barn Studio activities for Gateway’s centers includes 184 children from Cumberland County Head Start centers from November 1, 2022 through January 31, 2023. Children in the River’s Edge Head Start and Cheryl Chadwick Early Learning Center in Bridgeton, as well as students at the Vineland II and Vineland III Head Start centers will participate. Children will enjoy a hands-on clay arts experience and a gallery showing and creative art experience as part of the program.

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Early Head Start/Head Start program announced today a new partnership with the national nonprofit DonorsChoose to help teachers tap into a network of 4 million donors to support classroom projects and more seamlessly align with district strategy and operations. Teachers in Gateway EHS/Head Start have raised $100K and completed over 190 projects on DonorsChoose. These projects vary from books to laptops and other tools to enhance the learning environment and support student success. (Click for more info)

In an effort to expand participation in NJ SNAP, Hunger Free NJ is circulating a survey to learn more about the barriers to enrollment. We will be publishing the results in a report that will include actionable steps the state can take to improve SNAP participation, which currently reaches just 75 percent of very low-income residents who would likely qualify.

Gateway Community Action Partnership offices and sites will reopen on Monday, June 15 and resume normal daily hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Agency services will be available at agency sites throughout the coverage area. Client intake for program services will be limited to comply with safe social distancing protocols and all employees, clients, guests, etc. will be required to wear a protective face mask inside agency facilities at all times. Please note: the WIC program will continue to provide phone certifications and will not be serving clients in person, until further notice. For the safety of our children, families and employees during the continuing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, Gateway Community Action Partnership offices, outreach centers and facilities will be closed on Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, March 20 with employees working from home to abide by social distancing protocols on those days.

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s College Tour 2020 scheduled for April 13-19 has been cancelled in response to the safety concerns regarding COVID-19. Refunds will be provided by mail to students who signed up for the trip.
