Gateway Community Action Partnership (GCAP) is seeking qualifications for a General Marketing Consultant for its Early Head Start program in Philadelphia, PA. Effective July 1, 2020, GCAP began the process of outreach in the Philadelphia Community to serve 200 infants, toddlers, and pregnant women, in addition to recruiting highly qualified teaching and family support staff. This RFQ is presented with the intention of developing a strong presence in Philadelphia with low-income families and community partners. Marketing strategies should be designed to encourage families to enroll in the Early Head Start program, to encourage community partners to refer families to Gateway, and to encourage highly qualified candidates to seek employment with Gateway. Gateway management staff will work closely with the marketing team to support a comprehensive approach. Submission Deadline. Gateway opens River’s Edge Warming Center

Gateway Community Action Partnership has opened the River’s Edge Warming Center, 7 Washington St., Bridgeton. It is the newest Code Blue warming center and is part of the Cumberland County Code Blue efforts to keep the homeless protected and safe during inclement weather. In accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines, the center can accommodate 20 homeless individuals on any night the Cumberland County Office of Emergency Management calls Code Blue. Guidelines for calling Code Blue are when temperatures are 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

Gateway Community Action Partnership, in partnership with Brightside Academy, have been selected by the Administration for Children & Families to operate four Early Head Start centers in various neighborhoods within the City of Philadelphia beginning fall 2020, providing a quality early education experience for infants through children three years of age. Gateway offices, sites to resume Traditional hours of operation June 15

Gateway Community Action Partnership offices and sites will reopen on Monday, June 15 and resume normal daily hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Agency services will be available at agency sites throughout the coverage area. Client intake for program services will be limited to comply with safe social distancing protocols and all employees, clients, guests, etc. will be required to wear a protective face mask inside agency facilities at all times. Please note: the WIC program will continue to provide phone certifications and will not be serving clients in person, until further notice. Gateway Reduces Office Hours, Staffing. Head Start Centers Closed through March 31

For the safety of our children, families and employees during the continuing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, Gateway Community Action Partnership offices, outreach centers and facilities will be closed on Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, March 20 with employees working from home to abide by social distancing protocols on those days.

Gateway College Tour 2020 cancelled

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s College Tour 2020 scheduled for April 13-19 has been cancelled in response to the safety concerns regarding COVID-19. Refunds will be provided by mail to students who signed up for the trip. Gateway to hold tutor training session

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Literacy Services Department will conduct a Literacy Volunteers tutor training session in Bridgeton beginning March 25. Pre-registration is required. Trained tutors will work one-on-one with adult learners who need help reading, writing, or speaking English. The training course will be held Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Gateway Community Action Partnership, 110 Cohansey Street, Bridgeton. Class dates are March 25, April 1, 8, 15 and 22.

Census Bureau to host Recruiting event in Salem

The U.S. Census Bureau will host a recruiting event on Wednesday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salem County One-Stop Career Center, 174 E. Broadway, Salem.
