Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. (t/a Gateway Community Action Partnership) located at 110 Cohansey St., Bridgeton, NJ 08302, invites the submission of sealed bids in food service for Breakfast, Lunch, and PM Supplement, as described in the New Jersey Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program Invitation for Bid and Standard Contract. These meals are to be served to 374_ participants, ages 0-5__, five days per week. Meals must meet the requirements mandated by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program and begin _05/01/2021__. Bid specifications are available at www.gatewaycap.org/news and at 110 Cohansey St., Bridgeton, NJ 08302. Sealed bids will be opened and read aloud, 3/25/2021, at 10 a.m. Written proposals received after 3/25/21 at 9 a.m. shall not be considered. Here are key deadlines for the upcoming April 20th local elections occurring in some municipalities: • March 30: Deadline to Register to Vote for the April 20th election • April 13: In order to receive your ballot in the mail, Vote-by- Mail applications must be received by your County Clerk by April 13th. • April 19 at 3:00 pm: Deadline to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot in person at your County Clerk’s office.

In an effort to expand participation in NJ SNAP, Hunger Free NJ is circulating a survey to learn more about the barriers to enrollment. We will be publishing the results in a report that will include actionable steps the state can take to improve SNAP participation, which currently reaches just 75 percent of very low-income residents who would likely qualify.

Gateway Community Action Partnership offices and sites will reopen on Monday, June 15 and resume normal daily hours of operation, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Agency services will be available at agency sites throughout the coverage area. Client intake for program services will be limited to comply with safe social distancing protocols and all employees, clients, guests, etc. will be required to wear a protective face mask inside agency facilities at all times. Please note: the WIC program will continue to provide phone certifications and will not be serving clients in person, until further notice. For the safety of our children, families and employees during the continuing COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, Gateway Community Action Partnership offices, outreach centers and facilities will be closed on Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, March 20 with employees working from home to abide by social distancing protocols on those days.

Gateway Community Action Partnership’s College Tour 2020 scheduled for April 13-19 has been cancelled in response to the safety concerns regarding COVID-19. Refunds will be provided by mail to students who signed up for the trip. Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Literacy Services Department will conduct a Literacy Volunteers tutor training session in Bridgeton beginning March 25. Pre-registration is required. Trained tutors will work one-on-one with adult learners who need help reading, writing, or speaking English. The training course will be held Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Gateway Community Action Partnership, 110 Cohansey Street, Bridgeton. Class dates are March 25, April 1, 8, 15 and 22.

The U.S. Census Bureau will host a recruiting event on Wednesday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salem County One-Stop Career Center, 174 E. Broadway, Salem. The Census Bureau is hiring for field representatives and census takers. A Census representative will be available to answer questions about positions with the 2020 Census and assist with the on-line application. Pay rates start at $16.50 per hour.
